Kalpesh R. Patel is a highly accomplished legal practitioner with over 30 years of standing practice across Gujarat. Since commencing practice in 1986, he has built a reputation for steady courtroom advocacy, thorough preparation, and client-focused legal solutions across Civil and Criminal Litigation, Execution, Revenue, Family, Rent, Insolvency, Arbitration, and Land Disputes.
His career began with a grounding in rent, civil, and revenue matters, inspired by his father’s legacy in law. The early years of practice gave him a deep familiarity with trial court proceedings, document-intensive revenue work, and the temperament required for long-drawn civil litigation. Over time, he expanded into electricity litigation, establishing a dominant presence in that area prior to the legislative changes brought by the Electricity Act, 2003, which restructured the sector and altered the landscape of such disputes entirely.
As his practice matured, Mr. Patel extended his reach into institutional legal work, entering into empanelments with leading banks, housing finance companies, and non-banking financial companies. Today, his corporate empanelment network spans 18 districts of Gujarat, with a portfolio of over 10,000 financial cases handled for institutions including IndusInd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, HDB Financial Services, Muthoot Housing Finance, Aspire Housing Finance, Cholamandalam Housing Finance, Reliance Commercial Finance, Shriram Housing Finance, and several others. This breadth of institutional work reflects not just legal competence but also the trust that lenders and financial institutions place in him as a panel advocate who can manage high-volume, time-sensitive legal proceedings efficiently and reliably.
His practice before the courts is equally broad. He regularly appears before the City Civil and Sessions Court in Ahmedabad, District Courts across 18 districts of Gujarat including Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Patan, Bhuj, Rajkot, Surendranagar, Surat, Vadodara, Anand, and Nadiad, the Small Causes Court, the Family Court, Revenue Courts at the levels of Mamlatdar, Collector, Revenue Tribunals, and Special Revenue Sachiv, the Debt Recovery Tribunal, the National Company Law Tribunal (Ahmedabad Bench), and Consumer State Commission and District Forums. For matters at the High Court of Gujarat, DRT, and Consumer Commission, he works in coordination with Adv. Dhruvik K. Patel.
In the area of drafting and documentation, Mr. Patel brings decades of precision to Civil Suits, Execution Petitions, SARFAESI matters under Section 14, Consumer Complaints, Legal Notices on behalf of financial institutions and private clients, replies against petitions, suits, and notices of all kinds, as well as Deeds, Conveyances, Agreements, Terms and Conditions, and bespoke institutional documentation for banks and NBFCs.
Beyond the courtroom, Mr. Patel has held leadership roles that reflect his standing in the broader legal and civic community. He served as Director of a Co-operative Bank in 1998, as Joint Secretary of a Society from 2011 to 2017, as Vice President of a Society from 2017 onwards, and currently serves as Secretary of the Ahmedabad Bar Association a position he has held since 2022. This last role in particular places him at the centre of the legal profession’s governance in Ahmedabad, where he works on matters affecting advocates across the city.
